JAK-STAT pathway

JAK-STAT pathway plays a key role in cytokine/growth factor-mediated signal transduction. Upon receptor activation, JAK proteins autophosphorylate and subsequently phosphorylate STATs which dimerize and translocate to the nucleus where they regulate gene transcription for cellular immunity, proliferation, apoptosis and differentiation. Growing evidence indicates that dysregulation of the JAK/STAT signaling is associated with cancers and autoimmune diseases.
