Background | The protein encoded by this gene is T-cell receptor zeta, which together with T-cell receptor alpha/beta and gamma/delta heterodimers, and with CD3-gamma, -delta and -epsilon, forms the T-cell receptor-CD3 complex. The zeta chain plays an important role in coupling antigen recognition to several intracellular signal-transduction pathways. Low expression of the antigen results in impaired immune response. Westren blot: Cell lyzates of HEK293T/17 cells transiently transfected with expression vectors harboring genes for mCD3zeta wild type and six different mCD3zeta mutants, where particular ITAM tyrosines were substituted with phenylalanines, were prepared. Subsequently the lysates (non-reducing conditions) were stained with ARG65722 anti-CD3 zeta phospho (Tyr142) antibody [EM-54].
