anti-hCG (beta 1 epitope) antibody [INN-hCG-2]

anti-hCG (beta 1 epitope) antibody [INN-hCG-2] for ELISA,IHC-Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections,Radioimmunoassay and Human

Overview

Product Description Mouse Monoclonal antibody [INN-hCG-2] recognizes hCG (beta 1 epitope)
Mouse anti hCG antibody, clone INN-hCG-2 recognizes the beta 1 epitope on human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG). Chorionic gonadotrophin is a member of the glycoprotein hormone family that is synthesized by the placenta throughout pregnancy. The glycoprotein hormone family has 4 members, the other three being luteinising hormone (LH), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH). All consist of two subunits, alpha and beta. The alpha subunit is highly homologous between family members. Mouse anti hCG antibody, clone INN-hCG-2 is reactive with hCG, hCGbeta, hCGbetacf (fragment), hCGn (nicked), hCGbetan, and CTP-hCG. No cross reaction is observed with hLH, hLHbeta, hFSH, hTSH, or the glycoprotein hormone alpha chains.

GeneID: 1082 Human CGB

Swiss-port # P01233 Human Choriogonadotropin subunit beta

Gene Symbol CGB
Gene Full Name chorionic gonadotropin, beta polypeptide
Background This gene is a member of the glycoprotein hormone beta chain family and encodes the beta 3 subunit of chorionic gonadotropin (CG). Glycoprotein hormones are heterodimers consisting of a common alpha subunit and an unique beta subunit which confers biological specificity. CG is produced by the trophoblastic cells of the placenta and stimulates the ovaries to synthesize the steroids that are essential for the maintenance of pregnancy. The beta subunit of CG is encoded by 6 genes which are arranged in tandem and inverted pairs on chromosome 19q13.3 and contiguous with the luteinizing hormone beta subunit gene.
