Properties

Form Liquid
Purification Antibodies were produced by immunizing rabbits with KLH-conjugated synthetic phosphopeptide. Antibodies were purified by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific phosphopeptide. In addition, non-phospho specific antibodies were removed by chromatogramphy using non-phosphopeptide.
Buffer PBS (without Mg2+ and Ca2+, pH 7.4), 150mM NaCl, 0.02% Sodium azide and 50% Glycerol.
Preservative 0.02% Sodium azide
Stabilizer 50% Glycerol
Concentration 1 mg/ml
Storage Instruction For continuous use, store undiluted antibody at 2-8°C for up to a week. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C. Storage in frost free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Suggest spin the vial prior to opening. The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
Note For laboratory research only, not for drug, diagnostic or other use.

Gene Symbol GAP43
Gene Full Name growth associated protein 43
Background GAP43 encoded by this gene has been termed a 'growth' or 'plasticity' protein because it is expressed at high levels in neuronal growth cones during development and axonal regeneration. This protein is considered a crucial component of an effective regenerative response in the nervous system. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been found for this gene.
Function This protein is associated with nerve growth. It is a major component of the motile "growth cones" that form the tips of elongating axons. Plays a role in axonal and dendritic filopodia induction. [UniProt]
Research Area Neuroscience antibody
Calculated MW 25 kDa
PTM Phosphorylated at Ser-41 by PHK. Phosphorylation of this protein by a protein kinase C is specifically correlated with certain forms of synaptic plasticity.
Palmitoylation by ARF6 is essential for plasma membrane association and axonal and dendritic filopodia induction. Deacylated by LYPLA2.
