They are usually administered orally, but some can be given intravenously for treatment of serious infections.Quinolones are bactericidal and exhibit concentration-dependent killing. The targets of quinolone activity are the bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for DNA replication and transcription. |
