Purification Note | 0.2 µm filter sterilized. Endotoxin level is <0.1 ng/µg of the protein (<1 EU/µg). |
Purity | >98% by SDS-PAGE gel and HPLC analyses. |
Buffer | 10 mM Tris (pH 8.0), 100 mM L-Arginine HCl and 200 mM NaCl. |
Reconstitution | Initially reconstitute in water to 0.5 mg/ml. Note: Allow the reconstituted vial to sit at room temperature for 1 hour before use. Store at 2°C to 8°C for up to 1 week or prepare for extended storage. |
Storage Instruction | For long term, lyophilized protein should be stored at -20°C or -80°C. After reconstitution, aliquot and store at -20°C or -80°C for up to one month. Storage in frost free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Suggest spin the vial prior to opening. |
Note | For laboratory research only, not for drug, diagnostic or other use. |
Bioinformation
Gene Symbol | HGF |
---|---|
Gene Full Name | hepatocyte growth factor (hepapoietin A; scatter factor) |
Background | This gene encodes a protein that binds to the hepatocyte growth factor receptor to regulate cell growth, cell motility and morphogenesis in numerous cell and tissue types. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, at least one of which encodes a preproprotein that is proteolytically processed to generate alpha and beta chains, which form the mature heterodimer. This protein is secreted by mesenchymal cells and acts as a multi-functional cytokine on cells of mainly epithelial origin. This protein also plays a role in angiogenesis, tumorogenesis, and tissue regeneration. Although the encoded protein is a member of the peptidase S1 family of serine proteases, it lacks peptidase activity. Mutations in this gene are associated with nonsyndromic hearing loss. Function | Potent mitogen for mature parenchymal hepatocyte cells, seems to be a hepatotrophic factor, and acts as a growth factor for a broad spectrum of tissues and cell types. Activating ligand for the receptor tyrosine kinase MET by binding to it and promoting its dimerization. [UniProt] |
Calculated MW | 80 kDa |
