Inflammatory Cytokine Multiplex ELISA Kits are launched

There are pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines. Release of pro-inflammatory cytokines is the hallmark of inflammation, whereas release of anti-inflammatory cytokines is required for resolution of inflammation. Elevated pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines are associated with the pathogenesis and amelioration of inflammatory diseases, respectively.
 

▶ IL-1β	is a powerful pro-inflammatory cytokine that activates all types of leukocytes. IL-1β affects both innate and adaptive immunity by inducing neutrophil influx and activation, T-cell activation and cytokine production, and B-cell activation and antibody production.
▶ IL-6	is a pleiotropic cytokine that predominately induces pro-inflammatory responses and regulates various cellular processes. IL-6 stimulates the egress of neutrophils from bone marrow, as well as the differentiation of B cells to plasma cells and antibody production. However, IL-6 also presents anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties in some conditions.
▶ TNF-α	is a multifunctional cytokine responsible for diverse cell functions including cell survival, proliferation, differentiation, and death. As a pro-inflammatory cytokine, TNF-α promotes monocyte differentiation and macrophage activation, infiltration of inflammatory cells, and proliferation and activation of T cells.
▶ IFN-γ	is a pro-inflammatory cytokine that play a major role in modulating cell-mediated immunity. IFN-γ activate macrophages and their microbicidal activity, enhances antigen presentation, and promotes NK cell activation.
▶ IL-10	is an anti-inflammatory cytokine that inhibits antigen presentation of DCs and activation of CTL and NK cells, and macrophage activation and infiltration into sites of infection, thereby preventing inflammatory injuries and resolving inflammation.
