Adrenergic signaling promotes M2 polarization and bone healing

Adrenergic signaling promotes M2 polarization and bone healing

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) accelerates fracture healing, but the underlying mechanism remains unclear. In a recent article published in journal Signal Transduct Target Ther (IF 39.3), Liu et al. reported that TBI stimulates sympathetic tone-mediated bone marrow myelopoiesis via adrenergic signaling to favor fracture healing. In addition, they found that TBI-induced adrenergic signaling promotes M2 polarization of macrophages to shape the anti-inflammation environment in the bone marrow, thus accelerate bone healing process. These results implicate that adrenergic signals could serve as potential targets for fracture healing therapies.

arigo is proud that our Noradrenaline ELISA Kit (ARG80475) was used to demonstrate that TBI significantly stimulated the secretion of norepinephrine in patients suffered from fracture subjected to TBI and mice with TBI.
