Tools for studying Exosomes
Exosomes, the extracellular vesicles secreted by all cells, have the ability to shuttle active cargoes between cells and facilitate intercellular communication. Exosomes are present in body fluids including blood, urine, saliva, and cultured medium of cell cultures. Evidences accumulated that exosomes implicate in various diseases including cancer metastasis and neurodegeneration diseases. There is a growing interest in the clinical and therapeutic applications of exosomes. A therapeutic approach of exosomes in specific targeting of oncogenic Kras in pancreatic cancer was reported in Nature recently. Dr. Kamerkar and colleagues found that exosomes carrying shKrasG12D restrain tumor growth, inhibit metastasis and increase survival. arigo offers excellent antibodies for the isolation, quantification, characterization and analysis of exosomes. The antibodies for studying cancer pathology are also available. |
